In its 35th anniversary of publishing this comprehensive survey, the National League of Cities published a special edition of this yearly publication, which was loaded with graphs, charts, and images of the surveyed cities. The publication included relevant pandemic insights and a vision beyond 2020.

Our task was to design and layout an engaging digital publication utilizing and interpreting NLC’s existing brand standards. Working closely with the design director within the organization, graphic assets such as brand elements, photos, color, and typography were applied in a way that best highlighted featured cities and data.

Ultimately, the publication served as a comprehensive informative reference to NLC members and city officials around the country. In its 35th year, the City Fiscal Conditions 2020 survey of 485 cities revealed the breadth and depth of challenges facing city budgets.
